With this major increase in median home prices in Buncombe County, the trend for many buyers will be to look at outlaying areas with more inventory and more affordable homes. Cities like Waynesville, Brevard, and Hendersonville have become more desirable to buyers as home prices increase in and around Asheville. This trend will likely have an effect on appreciation of properties in those areas as populations relocate to Western North Carolina.
