This is a great place to experience the local scene. There are lots of local shops, a Urban Orchard Cider, and great restaurants.
The River Arts District-
Home of the Wedge Brewery, lots of local artist studios, and trendy local restaurants.
The Mountain Xpress has local listings for all types of music in our area. We have numerous live music venues nightly in Asheville. During warm months there is a drum circle in Pritchard Park every Friday night; this is a very Asheville experience!
The Biltmore Estate has a winery, so I suggest that you stop there during your visit.
A great place to have a glass of wine and relax is the Battery Park Book Exchange and Champagne Bar , Sante Wine Bar in the Grove Arcarde, or 5 Walnut, on you guessed it- Walnut St in Downtown. Love this place!
Asheville received the title of "Beer City USA" for several years running. We have a number of local breweries. Take a tour of local breweries, with the Brews Cruise And check out the Asheville Brewers Alliance for local beer brewers. Our area is home to Sierra Nevada's East Coast operations with an incredible facility and the future home to New Belgium Brewery in 2016.
